Amazon just announced October Prime Big Deal Days — here are the top deals to look for

Now that the dust has settled and the numbers have begun to bear out, customers and analysts are beginning to see just how strong the impact from Amazon Prime Days can be.

Amazon’s first set of 2023 Prime Days, which ran July 11 and 12, brought in a record $12.7 billion in sales.

“The first day of Prime Day was the single largest sales day ever on Amazon,” Amazon wrote when the event closed, adding “Prime Day 2023 was also the biggest Prime Day event ever for independent sellers, whose sales growth in Amazon’s store outpaced Amazon’s retail business.”

Amazon has now decided to replicate that effort by holding a set of Prime Days in October 2023. Except instead of touting hot summer deals, these autumn Prime Days, which are being called Prime Big Deal Days, will give customers early access to holiday-shopping sales.

“The holidays are coming in hot, and if you’re looking to get a head start on all your gifting needs, Amazon has your back,” Amazon writes on its official Big Deal Days site. “Prime Big Deal Days will offer amazing deals across categories like fashion, home, and toys.”

Let’s have a look at when and what we can expect.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days: Oct. 10 and 11

With the success of Amazon’s July Prime Days, it’s probably safe to say that the second installment of 2023 will produce positive results for the online retailer, too.

The sales are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 10 and 11. As usual, the sales will be available only to the site’s about 160 million Prime members

The days will afford members exclusive discounts and specials on highly sought-after items and brands. Some of those brands, according to Amazon, will include:

“New deals will drop as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event across a wide selection of products,” Amazon writes.

If you don’t want to miss a particular deal, customers can set a price-drop alert. Or if you’re a Prime member, you can request access to what Amazon is calling doorbusters and sign up for invite-only deals. If you have an Alexa, the cloud-based voice service, you can ask her to notify you when a particular item’s price drops.

Speaking of Alexa, if you’re planning to buy any number of Amazon-branded tech, it’s best to wait until they go on sale during the Prime Big Deal Days. These include Amazon Echo smart speakers, Kindle e-readers, Fire Stick media-streaming devices and TVs.

Plenty more should be on sale, though. Thousands of items are expected to be discounted during the 48-hour blowout.

For context, July’s Prime Days event saw the following as top-sellers:

The top three best selling categories in July’s Prime Days were home, fashion and beauty.
